My Story

Isabella Borg was born in 1994 and is from Burmarrad. She is currently a Primary School teacher. Isabella began her musical studies at the age of 9 with the Nicolo Isouard Philharmonic Society of Mosta, where she began playing the French horn that same year. She continued to advance her musical studies on the instrument under the guidance of horn player Emanuel Spagnol. Over time, she furthered her training with well-known hornists such as Manuele Catalano and Giuseppe Panepinto.

Isabella has performed with various local bands and is actively involved in many programs and concerts on the horn. In addition to this, she has participated in ensembles such as quartets — including Ventil Horns — as well as with orchestras and different musical formations, including performances in musicals and other productions.

Notably, Isabella is also a member of the Malta Police Band and the National Band Clubs Association. Moreover, she has also performed abroad under the direction of Gianpaolo Lazzeri with the Filarmonica Rossini at the Teatri del Maggio.

She has attended various musical masterclasses to continue expanding her knowledge in music, including at the Pietro Mascagni Conservatory in Livorno. Isabella also attended a music course at the University of Malta, where she earned a Diploma in Wind Band Studies.

Isabella Borg is also a horn teacher with the 12th May Band of Ħaż-Żebbuġ, the San Lawrenz Band of Birgu, Għaqda Mużikali Marija Bambina, Banda Vittorja of Naxxar, and the Marija Assunta Band of Gudja.
